One of the most charming emblems of the Christmas season is signs, cards, and bumper stickers depicting the wise men following the star to Bethlehem, where the Savior was born. The caption reads, "Wise Men Still Seek Him."
Even though God is not far away from everyone of us, Paul told the Athenians that God created every country of mankind so that they could seek and discover Him (Acts 17:26-27). Unlike the pagan gods, who kept a safe distance from their followers and shrouded themselves in mystery, the true and living God has revealed Himself through creation and His word. He asks us to seek Him in accordance with His word so that He can take us home to paradise with Him at the end of time. A number of biblical verses back up this claim. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus exhorted His listeners to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. He urged them to seek and they would find in Mt. 7:7. “Seek the Lord while He may be found; cry upon Him while He is near,” the prophet declared in Isa. 55:6. The Bible promises that if we seek Son of God, we shall find Him, and that once we do, we will have eternal life.
Happy Birthday Jesus!
When you go to someone's house for the holidays, have you ever experienced that feeling? It's terrible that so many people turn their backs on Jesus... Also, it's HIS BIRTHDAY! That, on the other hand, isn't new to Him. Several times a day, he is literally "shoved in the corner." What gives you the impression that His Birthday will be different?
It should, however, be distinct! So many people nowadays leave Christ out of Christmas, and it's not just in the United States! It's Christians, too! What a shame! I always make it a point to say "Merry Christmas!" when someone wishes me "Happy Holidays!" And seeing an X instead of "Christ" inscribed on something at the outset of the Christmas season makes me unhappy. Taking Christ out of Christmas has become the norm in recent years. It shouldn't be like this.
“All of us Children will come around, and daddy will recite us the story of Jesus,” a hymn went. And how He came to be born in Bethlehem. We’ll never forget to include Christ in our Christmas celebrations. Oh, please don’t forget about Jesus during Christmas!” This ought to be our rallying cry! And we should begin right here at home! Why do we criticize the world when we don’t even acknowledge the actual meaning of Christmas in our own homes?
Let us make a special effort to witness to those around us this Christmas season. Place tracts in Wal-Mart bathrooms (we'll all be there more than once before the season is over!). Leave a tract at the restaurant, and include one in your holiday greeting cards... Spread the news in whatever way you can! During the holidays, please tune in to FBN. We play Christmas music, programs, and cantatas every day! Please spread the word to everyone you know!
Jesus, have a wonderful birthday. I’m so thrilled it’s the holiday season. All of the tinsel and lights, as well as the gifts, are lovely, but the true gift is You. Jesus, have a wonderful birthday. I’m so thrilled it’s the holiday season. The holidays are made even better by all the carols and bells, and it’s all about YOU! Jesus, have a wonderful birthday. Jesus! I love you.
