I've always admired Jesus. I was taught as a child that He is my Savior and Lord of my life. Every Sunday, my parents would take me to church, where they would preach about how much God loves us and wants us to love Him back. They told me about Jesus healing the ill, rescuing people from their sins, and even raising people from the dead! This piqued my interest in learning more about who He is because it sounded like such a wonderful thing for someone to do. I grew up reading biblical stories that included beautiful graphics that depicted what each narrative was about; it helped me visualize what had happened in real life thousands of years ago!
Depending on the context, the word'savior' can have a variety of connotations. When most people think of a savior, they think of Jesus, however there are different types of saviors who can be employed in everyday situations. Because he saves me from sin and death, Jesus is my savior in every meaning of the word. He guards me and brings me to eternal life with him when he returns. I am grateful for this gift that Jesus generously provided to all of us, expecting nothing in return. The Bible shows us how much God loves us by sending his son to die for our sins so that we can enjoy eternal pleasure with him after we die if we accept his free gift of salvation by faith alone.
God created everything in the beginning and saw that it was good. Then, in the Garden of Eden, Satan transformed himself into a snake and brought sin into the world. As a result of everyone's sin, death has spread throughout creation. However, God had a plan from the beginning of time: Jesus Christ would come to this earth as an innocent man and accept our punishment so that we could one day spend eternity with Him in heaven. "The Lion King of Kings," as he is known, is his title.
In the Bible, Jesus is referred to as a lion king of kings. This is referring to Psalm 91:13 which says that "you will tread on the lion and cobra; you will trample the great lion and serpent." The reference was taken from Daniel 7:4-14 where four beasts are described - a winged one representing Babylon, a bear for Medo-Persia, an indescribable beast representing Greece, and finally a fourth beast with ten horns which represents Rome. In verse 13 it describes how "There before me was one like a Jesus lion," who received authority from God himself.
